Ownership & Funding

Who owns Verified Pakistan, who funds it, and what that means for our coverage.

We ask other institutions to disclose who is behind them, so the same standard applies here. This page is reviewed at least once a year and whenever the ownership or revenue picture changes materially.

Ownership

Verified Pakistan is an independently owned digital publication. It is not owned or controlled by a political party, a government body, or a business group with interests in the sectors we cover. Ownership details and any change of control are published here.

How we make money

  • Display advertising served through vetted partners, including Google AdSense
  • Clearly labelled sponsored content, produced separately from editorial
  • Newsletter sponsorships, disclosed in the edition they appear in
  • Reader contributions, which carry no editorial influence

Firewall between commercial and editorial

Commercial staff do not attend editorial planning meetings, do not see stories before publication, and cannot request that a story be altered or withdrawn. Advertisers who ask for favourable coverage are declined.

Conflicts of interest

Journalists declare financial interests, political affiliations and family connections relevant to their beat. Anyone with a personal stake in a story steps away from covering it, and that recusal is recorded by the desk editor.

Questions

Ownership and funding questions can be sent to the newsroom address on our contact page, and we answer them on the record.
