How to Get Rs100 Petrol Subsidy for Car Owners in Pakistan 2026

The recent announcement from Government of Pakistan to control high petrol prices is good news for many car owners across Pakistan as their everyday runs will now cost less, if they happen to own cars with small engines. Under new relief program, cars with engines up to 800cc will receive Rs100 subsidy on every liter of petrol they purchase.

Here’s a brief guide for families and individuals to find out about the relief scheme for small car users, how much relief they can expect to receive, and how to register for the scheme. Who Is Eligible for the Petrol Subsidy?

Under the fuel relief program currently being offered the two-wheelers and three-wheelers have been included and in addition to them cars up to 800cc engine capacity shall also be covered.

30 liters per month of subsidized petrol will be provided to small car users. Relie from this will be Rs. 100 per liter and hence will amount to Rs. 3,000 per month. This scheme is for non-commercial vehicle users and only one vehicle would be granted relief to a user / owner.

How Much Petrol Relief Can Car Owners Get?

The calculation is straightforward: Rs100 subsidy × 30 litres = Rs3,000 maximum monthly relief This amount does not need to be paid in cash, rather the relief will be deducted from the cost of the eligible petrol within the specified limit. This relief is calculable but is to be provided within the boundaries of what is actually used by the beneficiary within the specified time frame.

How to Register for the Rs100 Petrol Subsidy

One of the greatest aspects of the program is that it can be applied for via SMS – no smartphone, and no application online required. SMS to 9771.

Applicant will be required to provide his/her identification and vehicle information (e.g. name, CNIC number, Vehicle information etc.). The applicant will SMS “REG [CNIC without dashes] [Vehicle Number] [Province Code] [Registration Date (DDMMYY)]” to 9771.

REG [CNIC without dashes] [Vehicle Number] [Province Code] [Vehicle Registration Date] Note: It should be sent from the SIM registered in name of applicant. Vehicle information of applicant will be verified by government’s digital system of verification.

What Happens After Registration?

Once registered, eligible individuals can obtain a fuel token prior to buying their subsidized petrol from participating stations. In order to get the fuel token individuals would text “TOK” to 9771. The government has instructed registered beneficiaries to send: TOK to 9771 to obtain the fuel relief token. Now they can use this token at any Petrol Pump which is marked by stickers issued by the government, they will verify your CNIC and your eligibility for fuel subsidy and after verifying you will get the fuel at the subsidized price.

Important Things Car Owners Should Check Before applying please check the following points regarding your registered vehicle(s) and SIM: Secondly, the SIM being used for registration should also be registered in the name of the applicant. The verification of vehicles would also be carried out digitally by Government and all vehicles would be verified through provincial transport and Excise departments.

Is Every Car Eligible?

No. This is an important point. The announced relief for cars does not mean a general petrol price reduction for all cars in Pakistan. This relief is only for a specific car category, i.e. cars with an engine capacity of up to 800cc.

It must be remembered that all cars are not eligible for this scheme. In particular, this scheme is only for cars with an engine capacity of up to 800cc. And more importantly, all privately registered cars are not eligible for this scheme.

How Much Can You Save? Maximum monthly relief for an 800cc car (verification done online) shall be 30 litres (maximum relief value of such fuel shall be Rs. 100/- per liter). Monthly relief (maximum) for an 800cc car would therefore be Rs. 3000/-.

For example: * Petrol relief: Rs100 per litre * Monthly subsidised quantity: 30 litres * Maximum monthly benefit: Rs3,000 One can benefit more if s/he consumes less than 30 liters per month as benefit shall be equal to amount of fuel actually purchased by the beneficiary.

When Will the Scheme Be Available?

The government has announced that the fuel price relief will first be available in Islamabad and later in other parts of the country, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The registration process has already begun. The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet on Friday approved the fuel relief package of the Ministry of Energy.

Final Words

Receiving a subsidy of Rs100 per liter on petrol can indeed be helpful for short term for people using small cars for daily commutes but all this would happen only if one is using an 800cc or smaller car and within a specific quantity of 30 liters every month.

For an 800cc or smaller car owner, all you need to do is to check your car’s CNIC details and its registration number (Chassis Number) online, send an SMS to 9771 in the exact format specified online for Fuel Pass SMS settings and thereafter start using the Fuel Passes to be sent online to your mobile phone. However, it is in the interest of car owners to remain informed of all government announcements which may alter the eligibility, maximum usage or registration of cars for the scheme.
