Toyota Yaris Honda City buyers in Pakistan often start with the same question. Both are popular sedans with CVT automatic gearboxes in a similar price band. The real difference shows up over time, at the petrol pump.

This comparison covers two specific variants: the Toyota Yaris ATIV X CVT 1.5 and the Honda City Aspire S CVT. It uses the figures published in a Bloom Pakistan comparison on 28 October 2026.

Toyota Yaris Honda City: price and specifications

In a Toyota Yaris Honda City comparison, the City costs more to buy. Its ex-factory price is Rs6,149,000, while the Yaris is priced at Rs6,049,000. That is a gap of Rs100,000 in favour of the Yaris at the showroom.

Under the bonnet, the two cars are very close in size. The Yaris has a 1,496cc engine producing 106 hp, and the City a 1,497cc engine producing 118 hp, so the City offers a little more power.

Practical space differs slightly too. The Yaris offers 476 litres of boot space and 175 mm of ground clearance, while the City offers 510 litres and 172 mm. Families carrying luggage will notice the larger City boot.

How fuel cost per kilometre is worked out

The Toyota Yaris Honda City fuel gap comes from the fuel average: 13.5 kilometres per litre for the Yaris, against 15 for the City. That difference of 1.5 kilometres per litre may sound small, but it adds up with every tank.

Bloom Pakistan based its calculation on the petrol price of 27 October 2026, Rs379.25 per litre. Dividing that by the fuel average gives the cost per kilometre: Rs28.09 for the Yaris and Rs25.28 for the City.

Every kilometre in the City therefore costs about Rs2.81 less in fuel than in the Yaris, on these figures. A long daily commute makes that difference felt far sooner.

Petrol prices have already moved since then. The rate for 29 October 2026 was Rs377.91 per litre, slightly below Rs379.25. At the newer rate, both per kilometre costs would be slightly lower, but the gap would remain, because the City still travels further on each litre.

The five year picture for a high mileage driver

For Toyota Yaris Honda City drivers, annual fuel cost makes the comparison clearer. Based on driving 20,000 kilometres a year, the Yaris would cost about Rs561,852 in fuel each year. The City, over the same distance, would cost about Rs505,667. That is a saving of roughly Rs56,185 every year for the City driver.

Over five years, that saving grows to about Rs280,926. The City starts Rs100,000 more expensive to buy, but its five year fuel saving is nearly three times that gap.

Adding purchase price and five years of fuel gives an estimated combined cost of about Rs8.677 million for the City, against about Rs8.858 million for the Yaris. On these assumptions, the City ends up cheaper overall by roughly Rs181,000.

That conclusion depends on mileage. A driver covering far less than 20,000 kilometres a year saves less fuel money, so the Yaris purchase price advantage lasts longer. The City case is strongest for high mileage drivers, such as daily commuters.

What these numbers do not cover

Any Toyota Yaris Honda City estimate should be read as a guide, not a promise. It assumes petrol prices and fuel efficiency stay unchanged over five years, which will not happen. Petrol prices in Pakistan move often, and real fuel economy changes with conditions.

The comparison also excludes real ownership costs: maintenance, insurance, registration, financing and depreciation. A car cheaper on fuel may still cost more to service or insure.

Actual fuel economy also varies. Traffic, aggressive driving, air conditioning, tyre pressure and road conditions all affect how far a litre takes you.

Buyers should therefore treat the fuel saving as one part of the decision, alongside comfort, features and service availability. A test drive and a check of current prices remain essential before signing anything.

For a buyer who drives a lot, the Toyota Yaris Honda City verdict favours the City on these numbers. For a buyer who drives less, the Yaris lower purchase price may matter more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which car is cheaper to buy?

The Toyota Yaris is cheaper to buy: Rs6,049,000 for the Yaris ATIV X CVT 1.5, against Rs6,149,000 for the Honda City Aspire S CVT, a difference of Rs100,000.

Which car gives better fuel average?

The Honda City gives the better fuel average in this Toyota Yaris Honda City comparison, at 15 kilometres per litre, compared with 13.5 for the Yaris. That is why its fuel cost per kilometre is lower.

How much can the City save on fuel in five years?

On 20,000 kilometres a year, the City saves about Rs56,185 a year on fuel, or about Rs280,926 over five years, on the figures used here. The saving depends on mileage and petrol prices.

Does the comparison include maintenance and insurance costs?

No. The figures cover purchase price and fuel only. They exclude maintenance, insurance, registration, financing and depreciation, so buyers should add those costs separately when budgeting.

Should a low mileage driver still choose the City?

Not necessarily. In a Toyota Yaris Honda City choice, a low mileage driver saves less on fuel, so the Yaris lower purchase price may matter more. Match the car to your own annual mileage.
