We have a new hero. He’s 21 and is from Mardan. Razaullah, the right-arm fast bowler, announced his arrival on the international scene in impressive fashion as he made his Test debut for Pakistan against England at Edgbaston in the third Test of their current series, which concluded yesterday evening.

Relatively unknown to cricket fans across the globe prior to his selection for Pakistan’s Test tour to England, the new crop of fast bowlers have certainly generated considerable hype amongst Test fans across the land of the pure.

Who Is Razaullah?

Razaullah was born on April 5, 2005 in Mardan, Pakistan. The 21-year-old right-handed batter and right-arm medium-fast bowler is a new face in the international scene of cricket.

Razaullah had made his first class debut a little over a year ago for Peshawar in a match against Bahawalpur. In the intervening year or so he has managed to play eight first class matches, but he is nonetheless suddenly on the international scene.

Before his Test debut, the recently called-up bowler was only able to play 8 first-class matches. However, it must be added that in those matches he was able to deliver very good bowling as he had lots of speed in his bowling, unusual action, and also was able to make the new ball to swing and move.

Razaullah’s Domestic Cricket Rise

Razaullah’s first class cricket was played for Peshawar Region, Abbottabad Region, and Sahir Associates cricket clubs before he got a call-up to play for Pakistan. He has been playing domestic cricket for a while now and has proved himself to be a worthy player for Pakistan in Test matches.

Razaullah also had a great President’s Trophy Grade-I 2025/26. He ended the tournament with 24 wickets in five matches at an average of 20.50. The Peshawar Region bowler also picked up three 5 wicket hauls in his first class career so far.

He got plenty of wickets to prove that he is not only a paceman, but a regular wicket taker in first-class matches.

Razaullah Test Debut Against England

Razaullah played his Pakistan Test match against England in the 3rd Test at Edgbaston, in Birmingham on Saturday, September 9, 2026. As per change in Pakistan side’s playing 11, Ghazi Ghori, Mohammad Imran and Razaullah were going to make their Test match debut.

His debut could hardly have been more dramatic.

In his very first over of Test cricket he found the form of Rabada to dispatch the England captain Joe Root on LBW for 8 runs in just his fourth delivery of his inaugural Test match as a Pakistan player. This was his first Test wicket and what an incredible start to his career.

This was Razaullah’s first Test wicket and one of the biggest scalps for the young pacer on his debut.

In the rest of the innings, Razaullah was impressive. He bowled a consistent nine overs in which he was often banging it in short and got the odd delivery to jag back. Gay’s wicket was special as he had come into the side to replace Root in the second Test and he had partnered well with Harry Brook to build an important partnership for his side. That wicket was a blow for the English camp and the Pakistan seamers will have relished the sight of it.

Razaullah’s Pace and Bowling Style

Razaullah seems to have plenty of pace for international cricket. During his debut, he was bowling around 90mph according to some reports while others were even pointing out that he could reach even higher speeds to even touch 145 km/h and beyond.

Pakistan's batsmen found Razaullah's action difficult to handle as Pakistan’s top order batsman Saud Shakeel described the young pacer to have raw pace and an even more unfamiliar action than what Pakistan’s fans are used to seeing.

Many past fast bowlers of Pakistan have done great things for their country and the bench mark is high for the new breed of fast bowlers, the talented Razaullah has already done great things in his early innings of Test cricket.

A New Hope for Pakistan Cricket

The emergence of new hope in Pakistan’s dying brand of Test Cricket is seriously needed, and at this critical juncture of England series for Pakistan, Razaullah will definitely bring some cheer in the disappointed fans of Pakistan Test Team.

With only Test cricket under his belt, it would be wise to keep the expectations in check for the time being and allow Razaullah to develop his skills under proper workload management, with quality coaching and invaluable experience.
